Kids’ Tech University ¡en Español!, a STEM engagement event for Spanish-speaking families is held at Steger Hall on the Blacksburg, Virginia Tech campus. Kids’ Tech University is an annual immersive STEM experience in which children ages 9-12 and their parent(s)/guardian(s) visit Virginia Tech for a day full of learning and doing STEM with professors, staff, and students. On Sat. Nov. 16th, we are offering a session that will be completely in Spanish!
We are looking for volunteers from the VT community that speak Spanish to assist with the event. We are primarily seeking volunteers that can offer their own interactive STEM activity for the afternoon portion of the program in which parents/guardians and their children move around the activities. However, we will also need volunteers to greet and direct families during the morning presentation, help families walk to/from and order lunch on campus, and assist at activities that are understaffed in the afternoon. Lunch and a t-shirt will be provided to all volunteers.
