Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Thank you for your interest in our NEW Virginia Tech Storytime research study (IRB 23-748) on the interactive book reading platform for parents and children. We are recruiting children ages 4 to 6 years and their parents who live in the U.S. and speak English. The study activities for parents and children are described below. The lab option consists of one 75-minute session. The Zoom option consists of two sessions, totaling 75 minutes (40 minutes for Session 1 and 35 minutes for Session 2).

In this study, your child will:
- Practice math skills with a research assistant.
- Read two stories with you using the interactive book reading platform.
- Answer questions about the stories and platform with a research assistant.
In this study, you will:
- Complete a survey about your experience using reading technologies.
- Read two stories with your child using the interactive book reading platform.
- Answer questions about the stories and platform with a research assistant.

Families will receive a $25 electronic gift card upon completion of the visit (or the two Zoom sessions) and the survey.
