Fall 2025 Green Zone Training November 2 - November 21, 2025 Enrollment deadline: October 30, 2025, 12:00 PM The purpose of this course is to assist Virginia Tech faculty, staff and administrators in understanding the experiences of student veterans and the VT military connected community. Learning outcomes: 1. Gain an understanding of US veterans, the military, and the student veteran population at VT. 2. Be familiar with the skills and challenges student veterans tend to experience and the resources available to assist. 3. Implement techniques and strategies for developing a "veteran friendly" campus. 4. Become part of a network of VT employees who are helping student veterans and military-connected students succeed. 5. Participate in processes that will improve this program and contribute to more effective strategies for assisting student veterans in the future. Course structure: Canvas, virtual, in-person (Blacksburg) Space: 15 Week 1 Canvas: Modules 1-2 Virtual discussion: Thursday, November 6th, 10:00 - 11:00 AM Week 2 Canvas: Modules 3-4 Virtual discussion: Thursday, November 13th, 10:00 - 11:00 AM Week 3 Canvas: Modules 5-6 In-Person Student Veteran Roundtable (required): Thursday, November 20th, 3:00 - 4:30 PM
