The title of the research study is “Alcohol and Relationships”
The Principal Investigator is Dr. Meagan Brem. Her phone number is (540) 231-5701, and her email is mbrem@vt.edu
Key Information: The purpose of this screener is to determine if you are eligible to participate in the study “Alcohol and Relationships.” If eligible for the study you will be asked to participate in an in-person session at Virginia Tech where you will complete self-report measures about your romantic relationship, substance use, psychiatric and medical history, and other behaviors. You will have a free “app” installed on your smartphone, and be issued a portable breathalyzer during this session that will be linked to your smartphone app. The pre-screener will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. You will be asked about your dating relationship, alcohol use, and access to a smartphone. You must complete the screener to determine if you are eligible to enroll in the study.
